Yet another x-mas has come and gone, and thankfully the music has gone with it. I think that christmas music should be banned unless its on like a christmas only station then you can activly avoid listening to it.
We all headed up to the grandparents for the big day. Somewhere around 30-35 for dinner i think. Dad cooked some stellar prime rib and g-ma made some splendiferous ham and spuds. Mom made choc cream pies that were stellar as well.
After peeling about 25 lbs of spuds for g-ma, a big group of us went down to the resivoir to do a little ice skating. Grandpa had cleared off the ice for us so it was all ready to go. I am very proud to say that I have now officially gone ice skating and I didnt fall down at all!! how totally amazing is that! I was pretty stoked, let me tell you. We played a bit of crack the whip and throwing people around on a sled was also pretty fun. But you know what they say, its all fun and games til somebody gets hurt. Yup, you guessed it. A 3 person pile up resulted in Amy's finger getting on the sharp end of a skate and cut it pretty deep. That ended the skating for that day. Up to the house we all trapsed where we had a nurse and almost nurse (Brenda and Mom) on duty to clean and dress said cut. No trips to the hospital were needed and life proceded to go on as usual.
Thats really all the excitment there was to be honest. At least thats all i can think of at the moment. so bye til the next holiday!
(Oh wait that would be new years eve and that would also be tonight.... dont expect a blog from that one :P)
Since I am no longer moving every 3-5 months its not really about my moving escapades any more. Now its all about staying in one place ( I know its a crazy concept but it just may work!)

Winter
Around 4:45 this morning I happened to go outside on my break and what do you know, its snowing again. And its not just snowing, its blowing all over the place making it feel even colder than the 2 degrees that it was.
Moving to Montana has been quite the learning experience for me. For example, I never knew that it would only take a few seconds to make me so cold that my teeth start chattering and then it takes like half an hour to warm up again. I also didn't know that i could wear so many layers and still not be totally warm even after taking a really hot shower. I have also started to consume large amounts of hot beverages to try and get my insides warm in the hopes that it will help warm the outsides of me. I never thought I would make up new words to "The Song That Never Ends" but this i have also done. As I said before, its quite the learning experience. If you want to read the words then comment. If you don't want to read the words... oh well I'm going to type them here anyways and place a spell on them so you have to read them and then they will get stuck in your head for a very long time. or if my words don't, then the original words will and either way i win. MUHAHAHAHAHA
This is the bread that never ends,
Yes, it goes on and on my friends.
Some people started baking it not knowing what they did,
And they continued baking it forever just because,
It is the bread that never ends. Etc, etc, etc...
Yes this is how I spend my time at work. its either that or sliding around while humming some random dance tune in my head. Actually come to think of it, it might not have been just in my head after all. I might have been humming out loud. Oh well, no one complained... to me.

We're having a...
... Heat wave, a tropical heat wave. (sung in a rather oldish tone)
So it has been somewhere in the -20 to -10 range for the last week or so and then wonder of wonders, I went outside for work last night (wednesday night) and it was 22 degrees... ABOVE zero. I didnt even have to zip up my jacket cause it didnt feel all that cold. Isnt it amazing how the human body adapts to everything that gets thrown at it, even to the point of 20 degrees F feeling good? It actually felt pretty good all night and this morning it was a wonder i didnt roast since by 7:45am it was already up to 31 degrees, talk about crazy.
In a few weeks my job might not stink quite as much as it does now. Why, you may ask? well sit down and let me tell you. For the last few months (since August) we have been with out a crew leader in my department. This has caused more than a few problems between me and another lady because while I have seniority, she has age and believes that that means she can be a total jerk to me even to the point of snapping her fingers at me and telling me to "get over here." Well it looks like they will be finally picking a crew leader and it is down to her or me. Today however I heard a rumor that they may be starting a new department that involves the making of cinnamon rolls. Now I would LOVE to be in that dept but the rumor said that Evil Woman (EW for short) might be asked to be in charge over there because, and i quote " She's responsible enough to work on her own with out having to be supervised constantly like we have to be" Now this is a bunch of baloney if you ask me cause she is sure not the most ambitious person i have met. So basically, if they do make this new dept, im pretty sure i will be able to work away from EW and not have to deal with her snapping fingers. If they stick her in the new dept, i will be crew leader and wont have to deal with her. If i get to go to the new dept, guess what, yup, i wont have to work with her. I basically really hope that they do make the new department cause that would make my job SOOO much more bearable.

In the negative
So I have been officially introduced to negative degree weather and let me tell you, its COLD. I think it is currently -15 outside and that is only 1 degree warmer than it was at 7:30 this morning. How ahh is that. There is currently snow on the ground but its really light and fluffy and so it ends up blowing around a lot. I have discovered that I like Montana snow a whole lot better than Cali snow just cause it is a lot drier and easier to live with.
I met Trevor over in Missoula this last weekend for special meeting. I got to meet his parents and spend some time with his sister. It was a nice weekend. We had a potluck Friday night and almost everyone that came brought dessert. lol I think we had like 3 main dishes and about 15 dessert ones. I dont think too many people complained about that... After the potluck Trevor and I went over to his friends house to finish watching the Griz game (woo hoo :P, can you feel my excitement? lol) Upon arriving back at the house Rachelle, Trevor and I went for a soak in the hot tub. Have you ever gone hot tubbing when its snowing? Its really quite amazing if you ask me. That is until you have to get out and go into the house and your suit almost freezes to you... But all in all it was really fun. Saturday we took Trevor shopping! lol it was really fun. one of the stores was going out of business and had this huge sale going on so we got him to get like 4 meeting outfits, complete with a tie and new shoes! He was lookin rather snazzy if I do say so myself. Rachelle and I did a little shopping on our own, much to Trevors dislike (for lack of a better word) He wasnt allowed to come because we were shopping for his x-mas present and it sorta defeats the purpose if hes there.
Special meeting was on sunday and man was it COLD. I dont think the building ever really warmed up. Everyone was taking off jackets before mtg started and by prayer, everyone was putting them back on, myself included. I left after the first meeting cause the roads were supposed to be really bad and they were rather dicey from Missoula to Butte so I was glad I left when I did.
Well I think that is about all the news I have for now. Oh, and Mom, did you notice that I used puncuation and capitals and everything? It was just for you.

2 weeks... ish
Ok, so i was just realizing that it has been like 2 weeks or something since i have posted and for once, no one has commented on that fact :) I havent been posting cause nothing has really been happening since thanksgiving. Trevor came down this last weekend for special mtg and sis showed up saturday as well. Trevor and i went over to Kay and Todd's on saturday night for dinner with Joe Klucewich and Keith and Melinda who had also come up for special mtg. It was a nice evening and i actually went to bed by like 10:30, it was rather amazing. sunday morning we had 3 showers to get through and a very small water heater that doesnt like showers to last more than about 5 min. we actually did pretty well in getting through all of them and we all had at least warm water so that was good. Of course me being me, i didnt get up in time to make any lunches so i did the next best thing. i got out a lunch box and filled it with sandwhich making things, grabbed a loaf of bread and off we went to mtg. :) We had an early dinner with Trevors sister Rachelle, her friend Angie, Rob Langly and his roommate Shawn. Pizza totally rocks my socks. I worked sunday night where Lacey (again) tried to get me fired. Ha to her, it didnt work (also again) after a rather miserable and VERY long night, i got home and now dont have to work til tuesday night. i think i managed to sleep for like 16 hours with only like 2 intruptions but they were welcome ones so it was ok. I got up at 3am this morning and cleaned up the kitchen, did all of our dishes (and i mean literally all, we had no clean ones left at this point) while watching a movie. Watching a movie while doing dishes is a really good way to do it. you can watch a movie you have been wanting to see but didnt want to waste the time and actually accomplish something at the same time. Rather marvelous if you ask me.

Hmm
Well, i have no idea where i left off on my last blog but i know its been at least a week and probably longer than that knowing me. I havent been doing to much exciting lately, but i was actually home last weekend and im going to be home this weekend too! i know, its pretty much amazing since i havent been home for a weekend in almost 2 months. The people in my meeting were starting to wonder if i was still alive :) i assured them that i am indeed still alive and living with rick and that I would even be here next weekend! They were all quite shocked to say the least. What can i say, i like surprising people.
Trevor came to see me last weekend which was nice. we went on a date Friday after he got here. Went to a little hole in the wall mexican place that has totally awesome food and totally stuffed ourselves then we headed to the movies to watch the new 007 movie. I must say that i have seen better and i didnt really enjoy this one at all. can you believe that he used NO gadgets??!! I mean really, this is 007 we are talking about. He always has gadgets and gizmos that get him out of every scrape that he manages to get into. oh well thats just a part of life :P
Work has been sorta interesting in a odd way. Everyone has been taking Monday night/Tuesday off because our freezers are overflowing and we have to empty them out before we make any more of the freezer bread (certain varieties always go in the freezer and we make them on monday nights) so until further notice i no longer have my thursday nights off and to top all that off i have to work til 7:30 instead of 7... of course i wont be starting til 9pm but still, its the principle of the matter. Last night we ran into a bit of a delima when trying to get some trays pulled into the bakery. All the available trays were stacked 20 feet high. Yes i do actually mean 20. someone had the brilliant idea of using the fork lift to continue stacking the trays almost to the ceiling therefore conserving space (im giving them the benifit of the doubt on that theory, personally i think they really just like to watch us try to get them down) so in an effort involving no less than 6 people, a very tall ladder and 3 hand carts, we managed to get enough of them whittled down to a managable height. it was quite the accomplishment i must say. Other than me breaking the machine and maintenance not putting it back together right the rest of the night was rather un-eventful.
Im going to Grandma and Grandpa's for turkey day next week (with the added bonus of seeing Trevor) and Special Mtg is that sunday so i will get to go with them and that should be fun. Well thats all for this one.

Guns, Cars, Monkeys and Deer
Ok so i got to go up to the farm again this weekend (for like the 6th time or something) it was fun. rick came up after work on friday, he started out to have teresa with him but they stopped at steve and julies and teresa decided to stay there instead of goin up to the farm this time. i went to the farm right after i got off work friday morning so i got there about 1pm i believe. i promptly went to bed but after a couple hours of sleep i decided to wake up and go do some shooting with the guys (trevor and roy) i must say, my aim really stinks like really bad stinks. i was using the excuse taht i was left handed trying to shoot right handed but then they just told me to hold the gun the other way so now ive about determined that i just have bad aim. ok so thats all with the gun part of the title, on to the car part.
I took my own car up to the farm cause it was making a really funny noise any time i went over 70mph and seeings how the speed limit is 75 it was becoming a bit of a problem. Grampa and trevor took it out for a test drive and when they came back they said WOW, i was almost afraid to go any faster cause i thought it was going to fall apart. (it had a rather bad vibration if you pushed on the gas to hard) so after a long discussion between various male relatives they finally decided it was most likely the CV joints (constant velocity) i have no idea what they are but it has to do with the wheels in the front. sorta the axle or something. Grandpa didnt think that he would be able to get the parts in shelby and so was prepared to order them and lend me one of his cars to drive in the mean time. Monday morning he headed to town to look for parts and surprisingly found everything he was looking for. So while he was fixing my axle, he went ahead and fixed my right blinker and left brake light as well as pounding all the dents in my fender out and re-painting it for me. it looked pretty much amazing for the first time in almost 2 years.
While grandpa and trevor were out in the shop, i decided to make some monkey bread. (thats where the monkeys come in) it was a really easy recipie and ended up tasting really really good, i think everyone agreed that it was pretty much amazing.
Tuesday i just puttered around and ran some errands with trevor for roy as roy was in Helena running errands for lyle. i left for home/work about 3:45. i was goin good, and about 7:30 i was almost to work and guess what! yup you guessed it, thats where the deer came in. i hit a stinkin deer and totally ruined not only the fender that grandpa had just fixed but the same blinker that he fixed as well, i tell you, some days it just makes me want to spit or something. my car is still in driveable condition but man, i was really likin it lookin nice like it did. i think one of the worst parts about it is that it hadnt even looked nice for a full 24 hours before it happened.
Oh, but the main happiness for me this weekend, that might even cancle out the dumb deer (i havent decided yet) Trevor and I are officially dating now. ok that is all, time for sleep now,
Bye

Finally
Well election day is finally over so hopefully our mail box will no longer be stuffed full of "current resident" or "box holder 244" vote for ________ (fill in the blank). or all the annoying commercials on the radio-- Senator Obama supports blah blah blah. and promises to yada yada yada. Mcain will do whats right for out bleh bleh bleh. etc etc i think you get the point. now i get to listen to all the things that the new pres... who is it btw ive been trying not to pay attention- is going to be doing and how hes going to go about doing said things.
Ok so enough of the politics (politics meaning many blood sucking creatures)
So last weekend Brenda, Ivan and I went down to visit Sharon and her brood. We had a nice time. i got to meet some of Joe's family. he has a sister about stephanies age that i went horse riding with . that was a blast. its started raining part way on our ride so we turned back and ran cause it was fun and well, we out ran the rain. so we didnt get to wet and had a lotta fun at the same time. on the down side it had been about a year and a half since ive been on a horse so i was VERY sore when i gingerly slid off Whitie (he looked exactly like April and Rouge just a lot bigger) I ended up catchin a bit of a cold from little Lane. he was sure miserable but seemed to be getting better by sunday so thats all good. I had elk meat for the first time in my life and surprisingly, it was really good. i didnt know what it was at first so that helped a lot but it really tastes a lot like beef. its a little different but still really good specially if its done in the crockpot and has some gravy stuff on it. deer meat on the other hand is really not palatable (spelling?)
I tried to go to work monday night but ended up going home after about an hour cause i was just miserable, the first cold of the season will sure knock the wind outta ur sails. but after a meer 13 hours of sleep aided by NyQuil, i was feeling much better-- i could actually talk and swallow it was quite amazing. well its time for a shower and bed, so ciao

Ok so work was definatly rather interesting last night. First off we were short handed cause one of the girls sister in law is in the hospital so she wasnt at work and it was Tom's day off so that left 2 1/2 people to do all the work. i say 1/2 because Heidi is still in training and cant do everything yet leaving us rather short on people. I got to work at 8:30 as usual and got everything ready to go, the machine set up, bags pulled from boxes, lots of trays everywhere, the whole works. There was only one slight glitch in all of this... we had no bread. Apparently like 5 outta 8 ovens werent working and the thing that makes the bread rise wasnt working either so hardly any of the bread was even even in the oven much less on the cooling rack on its way to us. After it gets on the rack it takes 45-50 minutes to get to us. This being the case we didnt even get our first run of bread until a little after 10pm, over an hour and a half after we got there. then joy of joys, we got our first run of bread. it took about 10 minutes (maybe) to run this through the machine and then guess what, yup. there was another gap in the line. this one about half an hour long. thats basically how the first few hours of the night went. stop and go all the time. rather annoying if you ask me. On the plus side i feel that i am much a genious at the moment because i got that stupid double bagger (we use it for costco and sams bread) to actually work like it is supposed to. and that is pretty much a first for that so i was feeling rather proud of my self. For more of the evils of work when we got to the Big Sky White bread it was all WAY to soft and wouldnt go into the bags cause every time any presure was put on it it just smushed all over the place. so instead of getting almost 1000 loaves of that to sell, we got 640. not very good odds if you ask me. After that bread was done we had no empty trash cans so i did the logical thing and went to empty them although the way i did it was apparently cause for astonishment, congratulations and laughing. odd how the three of those go together. All i did was get a pallet mover and stick a pallet on it and load the bags of bread on. i figered that since they have to go on a pallet anyways i might as well just do it now and not worry about it later. i must say it worked rather well even though ppl were laughing at me as i did it. i say work smarter not harder and boy did it work good :D about half way through the night the de-panner stopped working. thats the doo hickey that pulls the bread from the pans and drops it on the conveyor belt that brings it to me. so they had to start pullin all the bread from the pans by hand and that takes almost half of forever. basically 2 people have to stand on different ladders and then the bread is handed up and they have to dump it on the line making sure that it is all going the right way and is right side up. so thats where they were when i left and boy was i glad to leave!
now it is time for a shower and bed so ciao for now.

Another weekend
So another weekend has come and gone. this one was rather nice in my opinion. i headed up to steve and julies with Teresa after she finished her class. upon arrival at the S&J's we had some pretty good lasagna even though sis didnt use any noodles at all! Kirk got me a couple of rather large books to read and so of course i had to sit down and read them right then and there. or at least one of them and i finished it in about 5 hours (619 pages) it was quite a good book and i will have to be reading it again before to long. She also made some amazing torte with the raspberry sauce and oooh it was AMAZING. i love that stuff i must say. just thinking about it makes me want more. saturday we headed up to the farm (we being teresa and i cause emily had a test til 1) got to the grandparents just in time for lunch so of course we sat down and helped ourselves. after cleaning that up we decided to go out shooting this being trevor, teresa and i. Grandpa and jamin took my car down to the shop and put on my studs and put in my new speakers for me. we attempted to shoot trap for about half an hour before giving up because it was way to windy to be able to hit the things at all. i discovered that i shoot much better if i do it left handed, surprise surprise. so after giving up on the trap shooting we just set up some of the clays on a drum and shot at them with a .22 rifle and trevors .45. it was fun and i got good at hitting the target. i also discovered that i shot a whole lot better left handed for some odd reason :P im heading up to the farm in 2 weeks again this time with rick and teresa and i managed to get sunday night off so we can stay later than 3pm which will be rather nice in my opinion. thats all for now folks

Procastination
So another year has passed... for me at least. i can no longer blame my hyperness/oddness on being a teenager. yes ladies and gents i am now in the 20's bracket of life. cant say as anything seems very different although my hearing might be leaving since i didnt hear my phone ring twice yesterday even though it was right next to me. do they say that hearing is the first thing to go when you get old or is it sight... oh well so far i have done well, nothing for my b-day. i worked tuesday night/wed morning and then i slept upon waking up i went back to work. I think i had one of the best days of work i have had there yet. we seem to have a really good crew going right now... at least if a certain memeber isnt there to stir things up. we got through 31 runs of bread (tuesday night it took us all night to do 21) and let me tell you thats a whole lotta bread if you ask me. the funny thing was that i didnt really make a mess at all when i was running the maching but as soon as one of the supervisors took over suddenly there was a whole lotta bread all over the floor and in piles on top of the machine cause they couldnt seem to get it in the bag. i think i ran the maching for 7 of the 10 hours i was there and the supervisors were "running" it the 0ther 3. i must say i was rather proud of my self for the awesome job i did running that contraption.
So, back to what i was originally going to post. I am in the process of cleaning my room which for some reason usually ends up making a bigger mess before there is any progress to speak of. i really dont know why that is. any ideas? i currently have my clothes in 3 piles, clean, used to be whites and everything else. odd sounding piles you might say but not if you happened to see the condition of my work clothing. Im heading to the farm tomorrow with Teresa- a girl from my field that knows kirstyn. it should be a fun trip up there go shoot some more pigeons and watch sis try to hit them (i hear this time her clothes and shoes will actually match... maybe it will help with her aim :) ) well all that being said, i should probably go find some quarters so i can do my laundry. does anyone have some i can have? ciao

Brenda, Lance and Ivan
Well i just got home from spending a wonderful weekend with Brenda and Lance over in Billings. Its about a 3 hour drive so its not to bad. On friday Brenda and i decided to go to the rodeo that was in town and took Ivan along. (lance isnt big on the rodeo thing) about half way through, Ivan decided that he was done and started fussing so brenda called lance and had him come pick up the squirt. on the way home from the rodeo we had to run by albertsons to pick up some foodstuffs and while we were there decided that we really needed to get the makings for brownie sunday's (brownie mix, ice cream, hot fudge and bananas) when we got home we waited for ivan to fall asleep after his bath and proceded to make the aforementioned brownie sunday's. i should really say that we attempted to make because brenda has one of those fancy stoves that has a ton of buttons on it so in the process of setting the timer, wouldnt you know it, i shut off the oven completly. this wasnt realized til about 11:30 pm when the timer went off so back in the oven it went for another 38 minutes. by the time it was done brenda and i were both drooping ( i hadnt slept in about 30 hrs) we set them on the counter to cool and plopped on the couch to talk and well, we both fell asleep. i woke up at 6am and brenda woke up around 5. we went back to bed :) not a whole lot went on saturday, ran a couple errands and finally had our brownie sunday's. around 9pm aunt jewel called asking if they could spend the night. they had been down in WY lookin at a college for Kevin and they were passing through on their way home so we go to talk with them for a while. Brenda and lance are moving to Chester! i guess lance lost his job and got transfered to Chester so the house is up for sale and needs to stay nice and clean so we did some cleaning up b4 we went to mtg today. we all pretty much left straight after mtg as brenda and lance are heading to chester to hopefully find a place to live as that tends to be helpful. well that is all for my weekend. and i think im goin to go take a nap b4 i have to go back to work.

Snow
Ok, so you remember in the previous post that i hated snow. well as if to emphasize my point rick knocked on my door and when i said whats up he walked in and threw snowballs at me and yes it was plural. he said that he was careful to miss my computer that was on my lap and that was why it hit the wall and fell down my shirt instead. i hate being cold not to mention wet. so he got my bed wet along with the floor, and me. i went and literally kicked his butt :P then he wouldnt even go and get me ice cream and when i went to get some he followed me outside and threw MORE at me!! how cruel is that i ask you. I told him that if he kept throwing snow at me i was going to go into his room next time Julia calls (with ear plugs and a plastic bag if i needed to chumba) and constantly bug him and if that didnt work, i will go dump snow on the seat of his pickup and see how he likes that! ok thats all again.
Jeeze
Ok now really, did you people really expect me to actually blog every day? knowing me its lucky if it happens once a week let alone once a day. Ok, so i had a totally awesome weekend and i got to shoot a shot gun more than once and i actually hit moving targets!! yay me! so i went up to the g-parents place thursday but before i got there i went shopping with kirstyn for about 4 hours. i got to the farm about 6pm thursday had dinner and then grandpa promptly took my car to the shop and started going over it to find everything that was wrong... and apparently there is a little list going. he fixed my tire that had a nail in it, fixed the blinker so the cords arent hanging on the ground any more, rigged up a heater so i can actually start my car in the morning and ordered some axel cups ( i have no idea what those are) and will put them on next time i am up there along with my studs if i dont need them before then. oh ya and he also changed my oil for me so taht was totally awesome in my book.
Ok, so on friday i hung out with roy for a bit, just followed him around as he did whatever it was he was doing... and then Kirstyn, Emily and Amber finally got to the farm. Grandma had some company over for dinner that wanted to meet us kids so we all went over after dinner time and played the piano and sang random songs for a while til they had to go. there was a young girl there (8 yrs old) that could play violen like no other. it was pretty much amazing kirstyn got some videos of it so thats pretty cool.
So lets see, Saturday we all stayed at Roy and Kaylees house, Kaylee made some good breakfast and then Luke came in on the train at 11:30 so sis went to pick him up and Trevor, Roy Kaylee and I decided to go shoot trap as i think they call it. Kirstyn had picked up some shells for trevor when we were shopping on thursday-- Oh and that reminds me of this funny story- ok so on thursday when we were shopping kirstyn said we needed to go to Sheel's a hunting and sport store to pick up some shells for trevor instead of giving him gas money for the trip to mandan. i said okey dokey and off we went. So we get to Sheels and walk in. Im wearing my typical jeans and sweatshirt and sis is wearing her typical fancy clothes. So we go in and find the gun section and are just sorta standing around. now i was all for just finding the shells my self but she thought we should wait for one of the guys standing around to help us (only one actually worked there) after waiting for a bit a little lady walked up and asked the guy for help and he walked off. i got tired of waiting at that point and set off to find the shells myself. kirstyn followed along saying "i cant believe no one offered to help me! I knew i should have worn a pink shirt and heels!!" i said " well you didnt ask for help, its no big deal" she was like " well ive never had to ask b4 usually they all come over to ask if i need help with anything" i rolled my eyes and told her taht she was the vainest girl i know and went and found the shells myself.
ok back to saturday-- we went out to the homestead and set up the trap launcher or whatever its called. basically a metal arm thing attached to a whatcha ma callit all on top of a tire holding it in place. you set the clay thingy in that arm and pull a string and it gets launched and you fire the gun at it.
I got to shoot a shotgun for the first time ever and i think it was like a 12 gauge or something. it was rather large and if u didnt hold it right it rather hurts when you shoot it. I am proud to say that i actually hit about 5 of the clay thingys in the air which is quite amazing if u ask me since i have never tried to hit a moving target before. Kirstyn also used the gun for the first time in her life i believe. I dont think she hit anything but she only shot 3 times so thats ok. Jamin came out and shot for a while with us to, and man hes a really good shot as is Luke as we found out when he got there.
Saturday afternoon we went to Megan Hinke's play in Chester. I think we might have embarrased her at the end when we all hollared GO MEGAN HINKE!! but it was a lot of fun.
Sat night we had a bonfire in roy and kaylees yard. it was cold but it was a lot of fun. we made smores and sang very random songs as they came to mind.
Sunday we went to meeting, or rather we attempted to. R&K left in their car and sis, emily, amber and i piled into kirstyns car but she couldnt find her keys so i said, get in my car the keys are in it. so off we go to my car i turn the key and it goes rrrrr rrrrr rrrrr, the radio had been left on and so my car was dead. back to the sister-mobile. as we get into her car she runs into the house to find her keys and comes back out saying guys i cant find them anywhere. just about then amber pipes up and says oh wait, they're in my pocket, i forgot! so we headed for mtg and surprisingly we werent even noticably late. There was a potluck after mtg so we all got to chat for a while then i had to leave a little early with the g-parents so they could jump my car before i had to leave. i had to allow extra time because it SNOWED. i know its only october and there is snow on the ground, how horrible is that. its really really cold outside but i suppose im gonna have to live. i got back in time for work and i went to work and i came home and i went to sleep and i got up. that is all

Sure Fire Way...
To get Blisters.
1. Leave the house wearing flip flops for shoes
2. Decide on the spur of the moment to go on a walk
3. Once started on said walk, just decide to keep going until you realize that you have now walked to the river that is about 3 miles from home.
4. Walk around the river for a while until it begins to darken and look like rain
5. Make the decision that "you really should head for home" and begin the 3 mile walk back.
If you have succesfully completed steps 1-5 you should now have at least one blister on each foot from the flip flop strap rubbing for 6 miles.
Yes ladies and gents, i was stupid enough to complete steps 1-5 and yes i do have a couple blisters now not to mention im rather coldish from being in the wind for an hour and a half. It wasnt very smart of me i know but still it was nice to get away from everything for a while.
On the bright side of this weekend, i think i got around 20 hours of sleep. i hadnt really intended to sleep that much but after waking up at 8:30pm friday i had some food and i was sitting with my computer on my lap in bed and i sorta fell asleep again around midnight and didnt really wake up til 7:30 this morning, so all in all i got a lotta sleep. I was going to see if Raquel Petterson wanted to hang out this weekend but she had to study for like 4 tests or something like that so she wasnt able to do anything. Next weekend i am going up to the farm with kirstyn and the steve and julie clan that should be some fun. The week after that im going to go over to Billings and see Brenda and Lance for the weekend because as of this coming week i now have seniority in the wrap dept at work and so i get thursday nights off which is totally awesome so now i can go do stuff pretty much whenever i want. I still havent decided what im going to do for my b-day weekend which is in about 3 weeks i think. im not going to be a teenager any more! can you believe it? its quite mind boggling to me i must say. im actually growing older (i cant say growing up cause i am very definatly still short and i think some would argue that im not getting any more mature either :P) ok im bored with this now and im hungry so ciao

No Pain!!
So for the first time in my life i was actually able to ride a dirtbike without causing myself any pain whatsoever. I was very proud of me i must say. I went up to see grandma and grandpa this last weekend, i called them at 8:30 friday morning and said oh btw im heading up to see you now. they were happy to have the company i think. I went with them to Bob and Marilynn's 40th anniv party over in Fort Benton and ended up seeing Jamin Benjamin whom i havent seen hide nor hair of since i was about 4 ish and since i dont really remember him from then this was basically the first time i have ever seen one of my cousins. I helped Trevor (i dont know what his last name is but he works for Roy) move some of Roy's hay bales around, actually to clarify that i sat in the pickup and listened to music and did a crossword puzzle until it was time to go to the other end of the field and pick Trevor up again, all in all there was basically no effort on my part but it helped him a lot so i suppose its all good.
I just got to thinking that the title i chose really isnt all that accurate. I seem to be in a constant state of pain due to my hip being rather far out of place (a good couple inches at least the doc said) but since i really dont feel like thinking of another title that is the one that is going to stay there. and now it is time for me to go to sleep since i can barely keep my eyes open at the moment and i have to work tonight although wonder of wonders i actually get my 3rd night off this week which is a very rare occurance indeed. i shall spend it going to the chiropractor... again and see if the doc can make the pain go away for more than just 2 hours this time. Cross your fingers for me. :D

So it seems like the fewer people we actually have at work the more we accomplish. how weird is that? We were missing two people in my department last night and yet we managed to get about 37 runs of bread done (each run being about 200-250 loaves of bread) we had a bit of a mess to clean up after we were done but we finished bagging the bread at 6:50 am and we are supposed to be done at seven. needless to say
Sunday night when we had 5 people we only got about half of our list done. Granted there were 65 runs on it but still, you would think that with 5 people you would be able to get more done right? Apparently that is a false assumption because this is not the first time this same thing has happened. only 3 people at work and more work gets done. its a very odd thing if you think about it at least it is to me...
I actually managed to get a thursday night off and i was going to head up to the GF area, but when i called the sis to tell her she said oh ya we are going to convention that week, sorry. i said pthhhhhhhb (how do you spell the sound that comes when u blow ur tongue at someone?) any who i now have a 4 day weekend and not a whole lot to do with it. hopefully my car will get some work done on it ( i need to change the alternator belts on it and there is only like 3 inches of room to do it in.) other than that i really have nothing planned, possibly cleaning my room as it seems to be in dire need of it but other than that probably a whole lot of sleep. if you call it is possible that i will actually answer during the day but dont count on it. Ok, enough of that. it is now time for me to go to bed so that i will actually be able to wake up when on time for work tonight... unlike yesterday when i was a bit late... opps n-gite all!

Title
Well i guess i wont leave it for over a month like i did last time. The new news of today is that there really isnt any new news but of course that wouldnt be new because thats the same new news i gave you last time i wrote. As stephanie was so kind to remind me, during the month btwn the last two posts i did indeed go shopping with kirstyn and while i dont think i actually bought anything we did have fun wandering around trying to find a store that turned out to be in the mall... the lady on the phone sounded like she thought we were totally stupid or something for asking where the store was when we called. Oh well thats just one of the joys of shopping i suppose. As of yesterday... or early this morning- i purchased myself a new computer to replace this old and rather worn out on that i am currently typing on. I think it knows its getting replaced because it has been acting up more than usual today. :) I should get it in about a week and a half or so and the best part is that its going to be BLUE how amazing is that. doesnt everyone wish they could have a blue computer?
Rick and i have ridden his motorcycle around a bit the last couple weeks. pretty soon its going to be to cold to ride it at all. we rode it to the stock car races about a week ago and i almost froze on the way home even though i had on tights, 2 pairs of pants, a t-shirt, sweatshirt and a jacket with gloves. needless to say.
We got to see Uncle Marv and Aunt Sue for a little bit today. they are making the rounds of their grandkids and stopped to see Aiden. This would be swell however on the way to Kay and Todd's last night they hit a deer with Aunt Sue's car and had to spend the night in Big Timber and Kay and Todd had to drive up there to pick them up this morning so they could get a rental car here in Belgrade. We all ended up having lunch together at a pizza place in town so while we didnt get to see them very long we did have a nice meal.
Well thats all for now folks, until next time i hope you all fare well and leave me comments as well.

Forever
To all my adoring fans, it has been to long since last i spoke with you. At least according to mom it has been... I have been working and sleeping a lot the last while although it seems to be more work and less sleep. I managed to get some time off for Boring convention over in OR and that totally made my week, the only down side is that after a week of sleeping nights now i have to go back to sleeping days and its not working very well. ah well thats the price i pay for going to convention and it was definatly worth it. On the work side of things i managed to give my self a bit of a shiner the other day. I was turning a handle on a machine and it popped out and caught me in the eye, it was a bit painful and left me a pretty mark lol i must say i was rather surprised that i actually got a mark off of it but its all gone now. I suppose i should have blogged earlier because i cant remember what all ive done since my last blog, since i have to head for work now im just going to end this now

revision
it would seem that i need to make an editors note to that last post, there are actually 768 tsps not 568, seems i forgot to carry a 1 after the quarts i believe it was. oh well, honest mistake at 4am :)
Gallon
so in order to waylay the boredom that comes from not being able to sleep at 4:30 am i am now going to figure out how many teaspoons are in a gallon with out using a calculator and im going to do it all on here. you dont have to actually read it all since i imagine it will get rather dull rather quickly.
3 tsp= 1T
4T= 1/4 cup
1/4 cup=12 tsp.
1 cup=48 tsp.
2 cups= 1 pint
1 pint= 96 tsp

there that wasnt so bad now was it? would any of you be so kind as to go back and check my figures?
unfortunatly that really didnt take me very long and i am still wide awake. i think it took me about 4 minutes to do that and mostly because i cant see where the numbers are on my keyboard to type so i had to keep backspacing. :P
If you were wondering at all why it is that im awake at 4 am it would be because of my "wonderful" job that keeps me up all hours of the night and then i sleep all day... in theory at least. so on my days off i find that i cant sleep during the night regardless of how tired my body says it is. and that ladies and gents is why i am posting this blog at 4:42am on sunday morning.
tomorrow is gonna stink (not in a literal sense i hope)

Bread
So its been almost 2 weeks since my last post and i believe when i left you last i was heading out the door to go visit Uncle Marv and Aunt Sue. We had a great weekend just hanging out and not really doin much, we went to a shooting range for a while because A.S. just got a new pistol for her b-day and needed to test it out. Before we left on sunday we procured a bed for none other than moi, yes ladies (and well, i think its just ladies that read this but if not) and gents i have an honest to goodness real-but-not-live bed. its quite wonderful to be honest and i am emensily enjoying it to say the least. speaking of furniture, i also gave in and bought a dresser from walmart and spent a very annoying few hours trying to get the dumb thing together, (i later realized i was trying to do it wrong... thanx mom :-) ) OK so on to newer and i suppose better stuff, i think it depends on your point of view. I finally secured a job and after about a week of 2 interviews, orientation and a drug test they finally called me on sunday to go to work. I am working at Wheat Montana on the graveyard shift, originally it was going to be 4 ten hour shifts with wednesday, friday and saturday nights off. when i got there sunday evening i was informed that no we would all be working 4 eleven hour shifts and for the next while no one was getting their 3rd day off (the bakery/production part is closed friday and saturday) so on my first week i get to work 55 hours, so far (this is day 3) i am hating it and i hurt all over the place. im doing my best to stick it out if for nothing more than the paycheck- that sounds bad i suppose but thats the facts. i figure that if i do 55 hrs a week for 3 weeks i can buy myself a new comupter on just the overtime and that would be totally awesome i must say. ok, well its almost 8:30 am now and its time for me to hit the sack since ive been up far to long already. see you around 4pm... ish
Ok so i just looked at my last post and it turns out i lied, i didnt leave off heading to Marv and Sues but thats ok, im not gonna change anything cause like i said, its time for bed. ciao

HUZZAH
Huzzah- an archaic expression of extreme delight or excitement
Yes ladies and gents, that is definiatly the feeling I am having at this moment, as of today July 11, 2008 I Shawna V. do once again have a job. YAY you have no idea how long i have been waiting to hear about this job, its like one of the two that i applied for that i can actually say i wanted so its quite awesome to say the least. Im going to be working at Wheat Montana- for those non montana people that dont know what it is, it is a very large bakery/deli that has some pretty awesome food. Im going to be working the graveyard shift 8:30pm-7am. its basically 4 tens a week so i get my full hours and still get 3 days to goof off and do nothing hehe not that i would dream of doing that... Life in Montana has been pretty good so far i must say, I really like living here so far. Manhattan is a rather small town and you can walk to the far edge of it in about 15 min, its a little over a mile from my apt to the edge of town. Rick and i are getting along great, he is a GOOD cook i must say, steak and taters for supper last night, definatly cant go wrong with that. Kirstyn seems to think that im turning into a hick... we shall see i suppose it really wouldnt bother me if i became one seeings how i already act like one anyways. We are going to Lewistown this weekend to see Marv and Sue and get me a bed! that makes me very happy seeings how i have been using an airmattress for the last few weeks. they are all fine and dandy for a couple day camping trip or something but oy, weeks of sleeping on one will make you want to sleep on the floor thats for sure. well we are heading out so ill get around to updating this... actually i have no idea when i will update again, you'll just have to keep checking back

Annoyances at the apartment
So when i first moved into the apartment the land lord was so smart that he forgot to drain the water heater before messing with it thus flooding our apartment with 50 gallons of water. I wasnt here at the time because i was at Devon convention so a portion of my stuff got dampish and the floor in the closet and along one wall was rather damp. Rick and i have both been able to feel the dampness in the carpet and smell what smells like mildew every time we come into the house. the land lady came over wednesday (without any notice) and said "well maybe if you took out the trash and actually did some dishes it wouldnt smell in here" well what kitchen doesnt have a garbage can with some stuff in it and the few dishes that were on the counter hadnt been there long enough for them to smell anyways. Needless to say i wasnt very happy with her and she kept saying "oh it must be something you are doing cause we have never had a problem with this apartment before you guys came here." "oh and if you have stuff on the floor, well concrete will hold some moisture and it will be drawn to the stuff on the floor" i wish i had been brave enough to say "well they havent invented furniture that will hover yet and i have to leave some of the stuff on the floor" so she and a carpet guy came by again today to check it and she seemed bent on making us feel/look like we were idiots, seriously these people are way annoying. they take anything you say and turn it just a bit so you sound like trouble makers and that they are the "wonderful people who are just trying to help" gahh its so annoying. oh well thats enough for this post

Montana
Well I have officially moved to Montana... again. Im not sure how long i will stay here this time but im planning to enjoy it as long as im here. :) Im living with Rick in Manhattan and i get to go to Manhattan convention for the first time tomorrow. That should be fun i think. We all came up to montana in time for devon convention, that was a lot of fun, got to see all the family again including the newest additions (or at least new to me) Brenda was there with Ivan, he is such a doll! lol and Ian was getting big and so was Rowena. I spent all day yesterday shopping for stuff, such as a bed and furniture seeings how Rick had well none to speak of. I am now the proud owner of a papasan chair and an air mattress yay me ok im done now bye

Drive home
Never go on a long car drive with a little sister that is determined to be hyper the whole way and when every seat in the car is filled and there isnt a whole lot of room to avoid the flailings of said sister. For that matter dont go on any sort of drive with limited space and a hyper sibling unless you and everyone in the car is hyper. It makes things marginally more difficult if you are the only hyper one and everyone else is just annoyed by it. Some of the antics of Stephanie the brainless (she told me to use that name if i blogged this) were as follows--
She repeatedly hit herself in the face with her fist saying OW after each wack. When asked why she was doing this she replied "because i want to have a bump and a purple spot on my head tomorrow" Me being the obliging sister that i am, i offered her my fist to use on her head, she promptly agreed and grabbing my fist started hitting herself with it. This is one case where i can honestly say that I didnt hit her, her face hit my hand. Steph the brainless will completely agree with that statement and in fact it might have been her that coined that particular phrase.
Steph thought it would be good if she sat on top of karas legs as kara stretched them across the seat to go to sleep. this put her up rather high and in a postition to be of greater annoyance, a fact that im sure she calculated in to her plans :P
When we stopped to get gas, we all went in side to load up on snacks, Steph decided to get some of those lifesaver gummies. Thats all well and good except that when we got back in the car she thought it would be amusing to stick them to her glasses and try to catch them in her mouth as they fell off. This caused much laughing and eventually led to Stephanie trying to catch her own ear and failing that decided it would be easier to chase her finger instead (im assuming she was hoping she would actually be able to catch her finger but sadly it still continues to elude her best efforts)
About an hour from home mom finally let Steph crawl into the back of the car with the luggage to give us all a little more space (and quiet). When we got home we realized that it had been quiet back there for quite a while and it turns out she had fallen asleep sprawled across all of our luggage and blankets, actually making a rather cute sight that made it rather tempting to just open the door and see if she fell out... i know, im such a loving sister aren't i?
We are obviously home now and i think im about to hit the sack so im ending this here.

Early mornings
So it seems that i have indeed been going to bed early... 2:30 am is early right? So i have decided that as much as i love moving, i really hate the packing that is involved with the moving. I had all day thursday to pack my stuff so of course i didnt really do any at all until late that night when i was supposed to be sleeping. my thoughts were that mom was going to be driving the car to SLO and i could just sleep on the way there, its a good thought i suppose but i got bored with packing after about oh say 5 minutes. I dont have a very long attention span it would seem.... i like snickerdoodles and candy canes.
We are now in SLO at kirstyns house waiting for her graduation tomorrow and then another 6 hour drive back to the main ranch where we will set up for a BBQ/ grad party for kirstyn before finally leaving for montana on Monday. That trip is going to take a while, with stops in Boise, Jackson Hole, Bozeman and then finally Devon in time for convention. Im really hoping i can actually fit all of my stuff in my car even though i know that it isnt realistically possible, im going to try any ways... i rather like having all my junk with me. I think im going to buy myself a hammock and use it as a couch.
Me- Its a B-E-A-utiful day!
Kara- congratulations shawna can actually count!
Me- Thats spelling dummy
Kara- Oh, right (hehe)

Last day
Well its official, it was the last day of work for me at the craft store Ben Franklins. I no longer have to walk around for 8 hours a day saying "can i help you find anything today?" or stand at a register and say "debit or credit ma'am" Yes this is quite the monumental occasion indeed. And to top it all off, when i got home mom was making ribs on the BBQ, quite sensational as well. All in all this has been a rather awesome day. Oh and i get to pick up a paycheck tomorrow and possibly get a deposit back from my Oregon apartment within the next week or so so thats another nice thing to add to the list. People say that bad things come in threes- well this has happened at work but it seems that good things also come in groups. The bad things from the last week were-- My friend went missing for 5 hours, Gina killed herself, and Amber (a pregnant girl i work with) started having some really sharp pains in her side/ abdomen, and as she is only like 3 months a long, its not really a good sign. Turns out she was fine but it was still a scare on top of everything else. The good things for the week are-- My last day of work was today, I get a paycheck tomorrow, Im moving to Montana on monday, I get to go to two conventions in 2 weeks.
All in all it would seem that the good out weighs the bad, granted the bad involved a death but still. you cant always dwell on the horrible things, sorry if that sounds callous but its the truth as i see it.
Its now 10 o'clock wednesday night and as of right now about 1/4 of my stuff is actually in boxes like it needs to be, i should really be packing right now instead of blogging but it just didnt seem like it would be very much fun... so im not packing, you know what they say-- "If it weren't for procrastination and the last minute, nothing would ever get done" i have found this to be so true in my life, (i should probably work on that whole procrastination thing... but thats for later)
He who laughs last... finally got the joke
And with that parting random thought, i will leave you till another day.
I bid you adieu and farewell

Amusing nothings at the main house
So today was boring until I arrived home... after having to go get pizza and soda to go with it. After getting home Sister the youngest ran out to my car and started pounding on it wanting the precious pizza that it contained. Being the kind sister that i am, i promptly locked the doors and proceeded to back out of the driveway with her running along side the car trying to get me to open the door.
As i soon tired of this i just pulled into the driveway and turned the music up til she got tired of beating on my car. As soon as i got out of the car there was of course another scramble for the pizza this time including sister the tallest but not oldest who promptly ran down the hall with the pizza trying to keep it from sister the youngest. Sister the youngest grabbed the pizza and went off down the hall with it thus prompting mom , After an interesting meal where sister the youngest (she didnt want her name in my blog) complained about how mom never got after anyone but her. Mom was tellin sister the tallest but not oldest to take care of her dishes and after a lengthy discussion on the whys of it we realized that they were in fact Moms dishes from dinner. Sister the tallest but not oldest promptly took the dishes back to the couch and set them back down regardless of the fact that she was already in the kitchen with them when we realized they were moms. Some of the funny happenings in the recent hour or so--
Me-- I didnt hit her!, my hand hit hers and her hand hit her face!
Mom- why did you go into that room with a pillow like you were going to hit her?
Sister the youngest- Because i WAS going to hit her!!
Sister the youngest-- hey look at me, im shawna! (she wishes)
Me- I have pinkies and im not afraid to use them!
Sister the youngest- AHHHHHHHHH (runs fleeing down the hall armed with 2 sets of knitting needles)
Enter sister the youngest- Sunglasses on one side of her head and her glasses on the other with hair combed over her eyes and face so you cant really tell which way is front, upon further inspection we realized that lo and behold her pants were on backwards to further add to the illusion that she was two faced and so we wouldnt know which way she was facing. all in all rather amusing i must say. dare i go so far as to say an improvement? no i probably shouldnt...
Sister the youngest doing impressions-- Look at me im kara! (hits her self in the face with a flip flop) not entirely sure why that is kara but it was funny none the less.
Sister the youngest-- hey look at me, im shawna! (she wishes) (she put my sunglasses on her head and was pretending to type at a computer like i am currently doing)
Me- I win!!
Sister the youngest- You didnt win, you fell down!
Me- Yes, but I fell on top of you so i win!
Sister the youngest-- Argh! (accompanied with a foot stomp)
Sister the tallest but not oldest-- She slapped my pizza!!
Sister the youngest-- Yes, why yes i did
On a different note, it would appear that my sisters and i are pathetic enough to know all the words to Amish paradise with out having to play the song. Between that at Mylee Cyrus' song See You Again, i feel rather bad for mom having to listen to it.
Ok, i think thats a long enough blog for this time around and im having trouble thinking of anything else to write.
Hope you enjoyed reading about the antics of my wonderful family :) until next time ciao

Life and its annoyances
So basically today wasnt exactly the best of days. It hasnt been the worst of days either i suppose, but for me it certainly wasnt good. So it started out like any other monday, didnt want to get out of bed and really didnt want to go to work. On the plus side i made a really cute skirt yesterday (when i was supposed to be packing) and i was going to wear it to work today so that was something to look forward to. Work was slow as normal and i got banished to the frame shop because Scarlet went home sick around 3:30 so i was stuck over there til 6, not to bad really but the owner was there so i really had to find stuff to keep myself busy. Down side.. i have to be over there all day tomorrow but i do get off at 6 so i guess there is a silver lining to every cloud. So the drama for the day was more sever than normal. Amy ( one of my friends) went missing from work, clocked out at 2:30 and never came back. Seeings how she has a rather abusive boyfriend we were all really worried about her and she wasnt answering the phone or texts and no one had seen her in hours, turns out she's ok but we were all really worried. While all of that was going on the manager at work got a call that one of our co workers had killed herself, now Im not supposed to know about that but my friend was with the manager when she got the call and she needed to talk to someone so she told me. well it was really shocking to say the least cause she had been totally happy when i saw her on saturday. Needless to say it was upsetting but i think im doing ok. Only 2 days of work left and then on to SLO and then Montana to live for a while.
The quote for the day via Kara--
Some people are like slinkys, they arent good for anything but they still make you smile when you push them down the stairs.
And so with that parting thought I will leave you now, enjoy

So im not very consistant
It would seem that it has been in the area of around 2 weeks since I have last posted anything to this blog... much to my readers dismay I'm sure. :) Well in that two weeks a bit has happened I guess. I got to go to all of Mt. Ranch 2. That was a lot of fun seeing every one again and meeting new people. Junior, and Andrea professed much to the delight of everyone there. Jeff and Mike were so happy they cried and hugged each other. We didn't stay for tear downs as we (Allyson and I) we rather tired and just wanted to get home. As it turned out I didn't go home until monday evening. Allyson and I went to help Aunt Dalene get ready for a picnic at their house for Memorial Day. They were expecting a lot of people so we decided to help them out. After an interesting night starting at Denny's-- I still feel bad for that poor waiter-- we moved on to a night of jumping on top of motor homes and rocking them around and fitting 4 girls on a double bed we helped get ready for the big par-tay. A few of us went to go get some breakfast and groceries as they were sorely needed. After we arrived back at the ranch, I was informed that some of the guys had a video that I would probably want to see, seeings how it involved my car. They had decided that it would be a good idea to try and ride a bicycle off of the roof of my car, down the windshield and off the hood. This is all well and good if it were their own cars but as mine already had dents in it they figured that one more wouldn't make to much difference. As it turns out they managed to dent in the roof rather severely causing 3 professionals to say "WOW" needless to say I wasn't terribly happy. All of that is being fixed now so its alls well that ends well I suppose. I'm moving to Montana on the 16th after going down to SLO for Kirstyn's graduation. It should be a fun trip up there I'm hoping. We are going to get there in time for Devon and then I plan on going to Manhattan the next week. I put in my two weeks notice at work and every one was like "ok, where are you going to this time" and others said they weren't surprised that I was leaving again, I guess I'm just predictable like that. Oh well, what can I say, I like to move around a lot. And I think that since I'm tired of actually using capital "I" and apostrophes (for Kirstyn's benefit) im going to end this here and not worry about punctuation any more. hope you all enjoyed reading what i think you proly already knew. til next time i get around to writing, have fun and enjoy whatever your life may hold for you.

Home again
Well im back from my sojourn to Linda's and I seem to have survived it with all pieces still in tact so yay me. I had a pretty good week and a half over there, I'd forgotten how far out Chicago Park is from town, im not used to driving for 20 minutes to get home from work anymore. It was fun to be able to be out in the sticks again with animals running around making noise all over the place again. Im going to miss Tony- Linda's latest dog- he was such a sweetie, followed me everywhere inside and out. I had a few friends over Wednesday night and we got a nice scare from one of the neighbors that stopped by to borrow something. Well as it happened, we didnt hear him knock and the door was open so he came in looking for me. We were all out back on the porch laughing and talking and just being hyper in general so when the door creaked open all of a sudden- and it actually did creak- we pretty much freaked out because to our knowledge we were the only ones around. (the neighbors car had been gone when we came home) It turned out to be the neighbor...kid? i guess you could call him. Linda had said he could borrow some stuff so he was just coming over to say hi and grab it. He was really nice about all of it but man it sure got our heart rate going lol. I didnt have to work this last thursday so i convinced dad to take his boat out... not that he really needed convincing but still. It was going to be just dad, carol and I but it ended up being Allyson, Kyla, Brandon, and Brian as well. it was a lot of fun I must say and to my credit, I was out on the water for about 6 hours and I didnt even get a sunburn how is that for awesome? My muscles are rather protesting the abuse i put them through while using the inner tube but I would have to say it was well worth the pain and i would do it again as soon as all my muscles work how they are supposed to. I think its pretty much for sure that im going to be moving in with Rick right after Devon for a few months at least, hes thinking he will stay put for at least 6 months and possibly a year or more so that should give me some time to get settled in and all that good stuff, who knows maybe ill move after 6 months its been known to happen :D

Well it looks like its been over a week since the last episode in the life that is mine. Not a whole lot has happened since then but I will do my best to regale you with wit in the shortness of this blog. Actually I'm not going to try for the wit because it would seem that I am rather witless at the moment. I started house sitting for Linda Compton on Tuesday of last week, I think it was around the 6th or something like that it has been going pretty good so far, had a wild party here on Thursday... well not really but I did have a friend spend the night with me so we can pretend it was a party. A group of us from work went to one of the girls houses Friday night for a going away party for one of the girls that quit about a month ago. We played guitar hero and got really loud and had fun playing with the birds and just had fun in general. I think dad is taking his boat out on Thursday again so I might go with him for some fun since I don't have to work that day. My last day of house sitting is Friday morning so I wont have to come all the way out to CP every day which will be nice on the gas end of things. I guess thats about all the news for now.

Long time
Well my adoring public readers- of which there are two I believe- it seems that i have been remiss about posting on a regular schedule. course I do believe I warned you that it wouldn't really be a regular thing in my first post. I haven't written because nothing exciting enough to warrant writing about has happened to me in the last few days. I got a rather bad sunburn at the rodeo but I'm pretty sure I told you about that. Well it blistered and now it hurts again but oh well such is the life of fair skinned people of which i am one. OH did I tell you, so we were at work the other day and this guy Nick and I were sitting in the break room just talkin about stuff and generally being a bit bored as we are prone to being on a beautiful saturday afternoon when we are stuck indoors, on the topic of being bored I turned to Nick and said "it would be really funny if someone were to page themselves over the intercom" so of course Nick being who he is said "hah ya I'm going to go page myself" well now I didn't think he was really serious but he left the room and about a minute later I hear "Nick call 22 please, Nick call extension 22" it was totally funny i must say and it caused a bit of commotion out in the store where employees were looking around in confusion and saying "was Nick just paging himself?" so ya that was the highlight of last week. Oh ya before I close this up I was going to tell you, I get to house sit for about a week and a half for Linda Compton (old neighbor for those non-existent people that don't know her) it should be fun i think and its some extra moo lah so its all good. This has been your not so daily reporter reporting in from another nothing-so-new-to-report- week.

Wicked Sunburn- Rodeo
so basically i got a really bad sunburn, on the one hand it looks rather funny, on the other hand it rather hurts a bit and i think im going to have to rule out some of the clothes i usually wear cause i think it would hurt to much. it all started out yesterday when i decided that i was going to go to the rodeo in auburn. Allyson, Kyla and Brandon decided to come along with me just for kicks and giggles. right after mtg we all came back to my house to get a change of clothes for me and to pick up my car. we then headed down the road towards the other VanDermyden household to get the others different clothes. on the way down we (of course) had to stop at target to look for cowboy hats, i already had mine but Kyla and Allyson needed one if they were going to the rodeo. we got part way to the rodeo and decided that we had to go to the bank (we wanted to be able to actually see the rodeo not just hear it) and after the bank we had to go to starbucks so we could look really cute in our hats with our starbucks. the rodeo was good as far as rodeos go, it seems like it was rather short but i guess it was about 2.5 hours long. well on this particular day it was very warm and sunny and i was wearing a tank top and sitting where there was no shade. not a good idea for one with skin such as mine i received a major sunburn- the first one of the season- it has turned to a nice shade of PAIN, no actually it doesnt hurt that bad its really bright red... at least the front half of me is. my back got almost no sun because the sun was in front of us the whole time so im a two toned person for the next few days. red on front, white on back. maybe i should go lay in the sun on my stomach for a few hours tomorrow...

Annoying Webkinz
Have you ever heard of things called Webkinz? well if you havent you arent really missing out on much. they are basically beanie babies but you can take them online and feed, play with, clothe and whatever else you want to do to them. So at Ben Franklins- the store i work at- and everywhere else that sells these animals is having a Webkinz Extravaganza which means that there are a lot of loud kids going all over the store all wanting the free Webkinz that you get when you buy anything in the store $10 or more. All day i had people getting mad at me because they could only have one Webkinz per transaction regardless of how much over $10 they spent. They kept telling me that they were spending $30 so why couldn't they have 3 Webkinz. They got mad when i told them that the policy from the Webkinz company was that you could have one per transaction. if you want to split your order up into 3 separate transactions so you can have 3 free pets thats fine but we cant give you 3 for spending $30 at once. How hard is it to get the concept- i didn't think it was that hard to comprehend but then i spose you should never overestimate the intelligence of people actually willing to buy these animals.

Now you cant say I don't have a blog
There I went and did what I said I wasn't going to do. Yes ladies and gents, I have a blog. I don't have the slightest clue what will be written on these pages but hopefully you will find it to some extent entertaining. If you don't... oh well no one is forcing you to read it. My life up until now has been a flurry of events that all came rather slowly. I suppose technically that wouldn't be a flurry but thats ok. When I left OR i was hoping that i would find life slightly more enjoyable back in california. what i got wasnt really what i expected but then what part of life is expected when you come to think about it. I sometimes wonder if there will ever be anywhere that i can find what im looking for in life i suppose it would help if i actually knew what it was i was looking for but as of right now i dont even know what i want to do for the rest of my life. I sometimes feel like my life is going no where except maybe in a circle or two and that really doesn't get you very far at all. Circles are good if you want to lounge a horse but if you want to make something of your life, well sometimes you have to step outside the circle into the unknown so to speak. Maybe thats why i have been moving around so much trying to find a place where i can be outside my circle.
